5 Tips and Hacks for a Clean Bathroom
With the holidays just around the corner and the rush of family and friends visiting, having a clean and welcoming home is probably on the top of your to do list. I know it is something that is always on mine. Especially, so when I host company. Bathrooms are the most used room in the house and the most difficult to keep clean and sanitary. Here are my 5 tips for keeping a clean bathroom through the holidays.
Toilet Wand in Each Bathroom - If you have multiple bathrooms in your house try keeping a toilet scrub in each room. Using one scrub for the whole house can be unsanitary and unmotivating. Having a toilet scrub in each bathroom will help motivate you to clean since it is right there in arms reach. I love the new Clorox Toilet Wand Cleaning System
Bathroom Spray - Having an all purpose bathroom spray makes cleaning all your bathroom surfaces easy. I go back and forth between the Honest Bathroom Cleaner
Tip: Wipe down surfaces like mirrors and countertops first and finish with the toilet last. Going from "clean" to "dirty" surfaces allows you to use the same cloth, reducing cleaning time.
Closed Bin - Having a bin with a lid can immediately make your bathroom look cleaner. Also, if you have kids who like to get into everything much like my Milo a bin with a lid is super easy to childproof.
Declutter - Removing unnecessary clutter from your counter tops helps keep your bathroom looking cleaner and your items more sanitary. I love organizing my drawers with sectioned bins. An organized space gives the illusion of a clean space even when it may be between scrub downs.
Tip: Last minute visitors? Giving your room a quick tidy will enhance the aesthetic.
Natural Grime Erasers - I have hard water here in northern Nevada and let me tell you I am not a fan. Hard water can build up so quickly and make any bathroom look dingy. Some products say they can handle the hard water grip of the grime, but many cleaning products fall short. I have found a halved lemon works great! You can also try a vinegar soak. Directions for both listed below.
Lemon Directions:
halve lemon
rub in circular motions on stubborn grime
Tip: sprinkle lemon with salt for extra scrubbing power on those clingy build ups.
Vinegar Directions:
I soak a heavy duty paper towel like Viva Towel
