Life is stressful, there’s no getting away from that, and in 2019, the more developed and advanced we are, the busier we seem to get, and therefore we get more stressed. There are particular times in life which are going to be stressful no matter what and the best way to deal with them is to expect the stress, know that it’s touch and know that it will pass. Here are some tips to help you through life’s most stressful events:

Bereavement
Losing a loved one comes top of the list of the most stressful things you may ever have to deal with. You can’t expect or prepare for this; even if your loved one has a long term illness, you will never be fully ready for the day they go. Grief affects people in different ways. You may feel shocked and sadness, anger or even guilt, so don’t feel that what you are feeling is wrong or strange, you have to feel what you feel. The most important thing you can do though is to look after yourself. It might seem hard, and it might seem pointless, but eating well and getting proper rest is essential to get through this and to help you cope.

Relationship Breakdown
Separation or divorce is also high up on the list of life’s most stressful events. Even if the end of your relationship is mutual, there are always going to be emotional, practical and legal considerations to deal with. Living arrangements, financial matters and child custody all have to be taken into account. You need to make sure that you surround yourself with a sound support system, and take time to make any decisions. Even if this has been your decision, you still need to take time to grieve the relationship and the person and the future you have lost, it is a big deal, and you can’t pretend to be strong and carry on.

Moving Home
Moving house has layers of stress and things to do. You start by looking for a house, selling your house then there’s the packing and unpacking and finding new schools, shops and other services. Making new friends and settling in as well as any financial stress and emotional stress. Don’t be put off though, once the hard work is done, it will pay off and moving can be exciting and can change your whole life for the better. No matter how experienced you are it is easy to feel overwhelmed in your first days in a new job as you learn what is expected of you.
