Nobody likes cleaning the house and there are probably a million and one other things that you would rather be doing with that time. But if you want your house to be nice and you don’t want to get sick from bacteria in the home, you need to do it regularly. That doesn’t mean that you need to spend ages slaving over it though. Most people spend longer than they need to on the cleaning because they make a few simple mistakes that slow everything down. But if you can avoid those mistakes and follow these tips, you can easily cut your cleaning time in half and spend more time doing things that you enjoy.
Buy The Right Cleaning Products
The cleaning products that you choose makes a big difference but a lot of people assume that it’s all the same stuff in different packaging. Sometimes, that is true and there’s no need to spend money on the expensive brands. But in a lot of cases, the more expensive cleaning products are actually better and they’ll save you a lot of time. If you’re using products that aren’t very good, you’ll spend ages scrubbing away at surfaces to lift dirt away, but if you use the best cleaning products, that dirt will wipe away easily. It’s best to try out different products and find the ones that work best, rather than just getting the cheapest option every time because you could be making life a lot harder for yourself.
Get A Central Vacuum System
Vacuuming all of the carpets is one of the more time consuming jobs when you’re cleaning the house, but if you install a central vacuum system, you’ll save so much time. Central vacuum systems usually have a main collection container in a basement or storage room, with outlets in different rooms that suck up dust and dirt. They don’t remove the need for vacuuming entirely, but they do handle the majority of it without you having to do it all manually. Just remember that you need to stay on top of the central vacuum repair because if they’re not functioning properly, you’re wasting a lot of energy running them. If you have a central vacuum system, you should only need to use the manual vacuum every now and again to give your home a quick once over.
Cleaning In The Right Order
Cleaning things in the wrong order is a common mistake and it creates a lot more work. If you start from the bottom of the room first, you’ll have to do it again because you will dislodge dust and dirt from other surfaces as you work your way upwards. It’s best to start from the top and work down, dusting first and then vacuuming last. You should also do all of the rooms in the same order each time so you get used to doing things a certain way and it becomes a smooth operation that you can do in no time. You’re just wasting time if you’re running up and down the stairs and cleaning rooms at random.
